— The studio
Of rainwater, sticks & pipettes
I live in the Borrowdale valley and draw inspiration from its volcanic and rich mineral landscapes. All my work uses rainwater collected from my studio roof or from the nearby beck. For me, this ensures an intimate connection to this special environment. I prefer not to use traditional brushes but favour sticks, pipettes, knives, scrapers and other unconventional implements. This creates spontaneity to explore texture and movement in ways that mirror the wild beauty of the world around me.
